NI stone and tile company sets out growth ambitions on back of £1m contract win

County Down-based tiling contractor Trainor Stone and Tile (TST) has announced it will create 10 news jobs following a positive start to the year, including a contract win valued at £1m for world-renowned US consultancy group, McKinsey & Co.

Awarded by London fit-out firm, BW, work on the flagship project is set to commence in February 2019, following a 3 month pre-construction period where TST was involved in the final design and workshop drawings. The development has been heralded as a major commitment by a foreign business to the UK.

The 100,000sq ft office will be situated in the newly developed Post Building in London’s West End. It is set to be a technically challenging flagship venture for TST showcasing the finest quality flooring and wall finishes; including concrete, porcelain and specialist mosaic features by US designer Anne Shacks. Breakout areas, receptions and tea points will be finished with crisp, clean contemporary look.

TST will be responsible for floor and wall coverings across 5 of the building’s 8 floors.

Peter Trainor, MD at TST commented: “It’s an exciting time for TST, 2019 looks set to be a record year for us and we’re looking forward to attracting additional talent into our workforce.

“We’ve opened a new office located on London’s prestigious Liverpool Street to help service clients within the financial district and East London Tech City and have been working with London’s leading fitout companies (such as BW, ISG and Overbury) to significantly expand our project portfolio.

“McKinsey’s new London Headquarters represents an important expansion of TST’s service offering due to the fact we will be incorporating all floor finishes into one single package – TST will be responsible for all floor finishes including its newly launched soft flooring offering.”

The project continues a long-lasting relationship with one of London’s leading fit-out contractors BW and comes on the back of two other blue chip fit-outs for Capital One and Barings Bank, in which TST were heavily involved in both design and construction.
